My why!

The truth is, I have wanted to start a blog and YouTube channel for a long time. I am talking years!!! After working at a very high-stress public service job for a year, I finally took the blogging plunge. I found myself getting bogged down with day-to-day life. I would go to work, come home, clean up, sleep, and take care of the kids. My days off were spent catching up on sleep, doing the never-ending list of chores, and laundry. Then it started all over again. Something had to give. I needed a change, an outlet, something outside of work and kids. Something just for me. So, Christmas 2018, I gave myself the gift of blogging, and my life is forever changed. While I am not in a position to quit my job, I still do plenty of chores (probably more now that we have added chicks and ducklings). I have a renewed sense of hope and freedom. I have also made a YouTube channel and will add videos soon.

My advice to new bloggers

Write for yourself. I would be lying if I told you I didn’t want to be a well-known author, blogger, and youtuber. Able to make enough money to quit my job, be home with my kids and build my dream homestead. With that said, if you don’t write for yourself, you will get burnt out and discouraged very quickly. If I never made a dime blogging, I would still do it. For me. Don’t get caught up in the hustle and bustle of trying to make money. Your writing and attitude will certainly suffer.

Don’t put all of your eggs into one basket. This statement applies to several things and it is a little cliché’ however, a reminder won’t hurt. Sticking to only one blogging category, income stream, etc. can limit your opportunities. Be careful, though, don’t have so many things going on that you are overwhelmed but do your best to diversify.
