Are you tired of writing post after post praying to the internet gods that it will do well?

I was too

Until today

Now, people have been writing since the dawn of time.

While blogging doesn’t have any income guarantees, if done right, it can generate a full-time income.

You wouldn’t tell someone working for the New York Times posting articles online that writing is not a lucrative field.

Yet, if you start a blog everyone thinks you are crazy.

Well I am here to help you prove them wrong.

I have created a fun blog post outline that will help you write a phenomenal blog post.

There are a lot things you need to know when it comes to running a successful blog.

I would love to help you check one the things off of your list.

Topic/Heading

Be honest with yourself would you click on it?

Is it something people are looking for?

Does it solve a problem?

If the answer is no, it is time to go back to the drawing board.

People need to be able to find your content on places such as pinterest.

Be sure to spend some time here!

Think of it this way

When your blog is small most of the people who come across it are going to be strangers

That’s the whole point right? To reach out to strangers and grow your audience.

If I told you my daughter got an A in math, you would probably read it and think, I am glad then move on. Right?

What if I said I had 10 secrets to help your child get an A in math??

That certainly changes things a bit doesn’t it

As a result, more people are likely to find your content and engage with you.

However, you need to be careful with this. Do not make promises you are not able to keep.

Use tools such as Yoast SEO and Grammarly to help you along the way.

Trick is to actually use them. If it your scores are not good than adjust it until it is.

Intro

I don’t know about you but simply stating “Grab the readers attention” didn’t do much for me when I was struggling to write an intro

I suspect it may not do much for you either.

Think about when you select a book to read.

Most of us read the first paragraph, if it is anything less than life altering we put the book down and try another.

The same applies to blog posts.

Do we do need to grab the readers attention?

ABSOLUTELY!!

But how?

Ask a question

  • Are you tired of _______?
  • What would you do if _______?
  • Can you really _______?
  • Did you know _______?

  • Pssst!!! Come here!
  • Riiiinng! I could hear my phone calling me from across the room

Description

  • With every breeze the tall pine trees whispered.
  • As if a lighting bolt struck him right were he stood, he jumped up, sprinted inside the house and locked the door.

If the method you are currently using isn’t listed here don’t worry

There is no way for me to cover them all, if it is working for you than keep at it. If not maybe try switching it up a bit.

Now on to the heart of any post, the

Content

Having good quality content that sets you apart from others is going to be key.

The blog post outline is pretty simple

It boils down to four basic things

What is the problem/purpose? How did you overcome it? What is the solution? What did you learn?

Each of these things are going to become your body paragraphs.

Pick a few talking points for each paragraph and you are good to go.

The tricky part is going to be how you present it to others.

When I first started my blog I really struggled.

and to be honest, sometimes I still do

In a world full of amazing bloggers it can be hard to find where you fit into it all.

How in the world do you get your blog to look and sound the way you want without feeling like it is the same as everyone else?

Grammarly Writing Support

The answer my friend is YOU!!

I know! I know! That sounds great and all but how?

Unfortunately, I do not have a quick answer for this one.

In the beginning, I really struggled with my writing style and tone of voice.

Sure, I wrote blog posts and I did work hard on them but no one really got to know me as person.

I did not have the confidence within myself to open up. I just spewed information out there and hoped for the best.

Which means that I have to go back through each and every post to spruce it up.

While your content does need to be so valuable that people can’t wait to come back for more

What is going to keep them engaged and excited is your personality.

You need to dig deep within yourself and figure out what is so special about you and use it.

Out of all the people online what is going to draw readers to you?

What makes your blog so different?

If you don’t what that is yet don’t worry!

I didn’t either

However, it is something that you need to figure out ASAP

That little difference is what gets people to like and trust you.

I know how cheesy it sounds but continuing to learn and practice writing is what really helped me.

Even though my posts stunk.

You heard it here first folks!! My blog posts stunk! And there is a good chance that yours will too.

but the time you spend making them will be invaluable.

The important thing is that you continue to learn, grow and most importantly write!

Sub headings/Images

I am going to keep this short and sweet.

Subheadings are needed to ensure your posts easy to read and information is easy to find.

How often do you read an entire article online?

I honestly can’t remember the last article that I read through completely. I know that is true for most people.

Keep it simple by using the main talking points from the blog post outline.

Using high quality images will help break up the text and engage your readers.

Without images posts can seem quite daunting.

If I handed you a printout of nothing but text, it may feel as though you got hand an assignment for a college class.

Blog posts are supposed to be fun!

I hoped this outline has helped you learn how to write a blog post.
